CHURCH AND STATE COMPOSE QUARREL
MERIC AN AGREEMENT. Received Sunday. 7 p.m. .MEXICO CITY, June 21. .President Gil iias announced the settlement of the controversy between the Roman Catholic Church and Mexico on the following basis; — That the ’Mexican government allows the Catholic Heirarchy to designate priests to register in compliance with Mexican laws; secondly, religious instruction is not permitted in the schools but will be permitted within the churches; thirdly, the right is reserved to Catholic prelates to apply for modification of the constitution at any time in the future, which same right is granted to all other Mexican citizens.
