OBITUARY.

ME. HAEOLD JONES. The death occurred Thursday morning at the Wellington Hospital of Mr. Harold E. T. Jones, son of Mrs. Jones, of Rangatira Street, Otaki. The deceased, who was only 35 years of age, hud suffered for many years from injuries received while on service in Samoa, but on Wednesday week he became very U' and on medical advice was removed to Wellington for treatment. The deceased, who was wellknown 1 '“.ally, was a favourite with all, and ira.-.h regret is expressed for his bereaved relatives. The deceased was born in New Plymouth, afterwards removed to Levin, duly arriving in Otaki in 1907. He received a deal of eaily teaching in Otaki and was also a pupil at St. Patrick's College as the result of winning a scholarship. Being of an intelligent nature Mr. Jones went as guide and interpreter with the forces to Samoa, where he received very bad injuries from which ho never recovered. For some time he was in the Dunedin hospital, then removed to Rotorua for treatment, after which he again took up residence in Otaki. A week or two ago he contracted pleurisy and this hastened his death. The late Mr. Jones leaves a widow and three children to mourn their loss, and much sympathy is extended to them. His mother, Mrs. Jones, of Eangatira 'Street., his two sisters — ■Anne. (Wellington) and Hilda (I’Vikiln sr) and brother Jack (Dannevlrke) will also have the sympathy of all. Mr. C. G. Jones (Otaki) is an uncle of the .deceased.
