CERTAIN SECTIONS TO WORK ONLY 44 HOURS “JOLLY GOOD FELLOW.” Received Sunday, 7 p.m. MELBOURNE, Juno 23. The timber strike in Victoria is settled at last, hut the terms are yet to be rati lied by the various oodles concerned. The 44 hour week will be worked in certain sections of the trade and 48 hours in other sections. The conference concluded by the sinking of “He’s a Joi^ r Good Fe*lew” to the chairman, Sir Robe, Gibson. , Dispute in New South, Wales Continues NOT PARTIES TO AGREEMENT.

He added: “W? have no delegate at the Melbourne conference. “ General Stoppage Feared ENGINE-DRIVERS LIKELY TO PRECIPITATE ACTION. SYDNEY, June 22. It again appears that the Engine* drivers’ union will precipitate a general strike on the coalfields. Mr. Atkins, the union secretary, today made a statement which in effect, repudiates the undertaking of the combined mining unions to accept the reduction of Is per ton if the commission finds that the owners’ profits are lean than two shillings per ton.
