SAD DROWNING FATALITY AT FOXTON.
BOY FALLS OFF WHARF. FOXTON, Last Might. The Alanawatu liver claimed another victim on Saturday evening, when the nine-year-old son of Mr T. McGee, of Clyde Street, Foxton, lost his life. It appears that at about live o’clock the deceased with his younger brother, aged about seven, was playing on the wharf when lie somehow or other managed to fall into the river which was carrying a good uea! ot flood water, Ithe current being fairly switt. The alarm v, as immediat-dy given and Constable Owen was promptly oa the spot but no sign of the»unfortunate lad was to be seen. The police have been constantly dragging the rivei since the accident, but up till a late hour last night had not been successful in locating the ,bo civ.
