BUTTER BONUS OF TWOPENCE PER POUND.
LEVIN DAIRY COMJANY’S DECISION. TURNOVER MORE THAN A QUARTER OF A MILLION STERLING. At a meeting of the directors of the Levin Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., held to-day, it was decided to make a final payment of 2d per Ih of hutterfat supplied to the factory over the past season, extending from June Ist, 1928, to May 31st, 1929, As the turn-over for the year was more than a quarter of a million sterling, the bonus will represent a welcome sum to tide the farmers over the lean period of midwinter). The total amount will be in the vicinity of £25,000. The average advance for finest grade cream over the year was Is 5.304 d per lb of butter-fat, and the bonus brings this to Is , 7.304 d, as compared with Is 6.359 d in the previous year, when the bonus was also 2d. The annual meeting of suppliers will be held on Wednesday, July 24th. The retiring directors are Messrs A. S. Death and W. E. Kilsby, who are eligible for re-elec-*tion. In addition, Messrs J. A. Mitchell, J. H. Taylor and W. J. Summers have been nominated, making five candidates for the two vacancies.
