PROCRASTINATING ON LABOUR PROBLEM
GIBSON HITS OUT AT GENEVA. COMMITTEE REPORT BAFFLING THE ISSUE. Australian Press Association. Deceived Monday, 1 a.m. GENEVA, June 15. At the plenary session of the League Council, Mr. Gibson (U.S.A.) in speaking at the presentation of the report of the committee on unemployment, said, ho found himself in a hopeless minority. Ho disapproved of the report, which begged the question. The Labour office had procrastinated year after year, putting off the question for further inquiry. The resolution submitted would not satisly the workers. He referred to the Brazilian delegate’s proposal for the reallotment of populations, which Avould bring labour to unoccupied lands and Avas apparently going to enlarge on it Avjien .-a.‘ president asked, Air Gibson to curtail his speech owing t,o the lateness of the hour. Mr. Gibson asked for a postponement of the debate but the president refused and Mr Gibson continued “If Geneva fails the Avorkers in finding a solution, it will b ri a bad day for Geneva. The unemployment problem must be solved.” A get together movement Ava-s suggested and this is to be considered.
