WERAROA, The above teams met on the Shannon Domain on Saturday, and after a fairly interesting game Shannon won by 28 points to 8. Saxon next kicked to the Weraroa. full back, who, on being collared by Birchall, hung on, for which his team was 'penalised, Mason failed with the kick. The last named played then essayed to pot a goal from the field. Weraroa were forced again. Newman made several good dashes for the line and on one occasion he boat several men, only to be brought down by the full-back. Then Saxon, taking a. good pass from. THIRD GRADE. WERAROA v. FOXTON. The above match was played on the Woraroa Recreation Ground in the presence of about one hundred people. The game, although one-sided, was quite an attractive one from a spectator’s point of view. A noticeable feature was tlm good spirit in which the contest was fought. Woraroa, with the wind behind them, kicked off* play going to Foxton’s 25. From a line-out. Woraroa secured, and a tine passing rush, in which every •hack handled, ended with Bishop going over in the corner. The kick at goal failed. Weraroa 3, Foxtor. nil. From the kick-off Weraroa rushed play to Fcxton’s .twenty-five, where, after a series of scrums, another fine passing bout by the Weraroa backs 'ended in Bishop handing to Graham, who scored wide out. On June Bth the Foxton school ’s first fifteen plalyod its first match away from home. * On arrival at Ohau it was found that owing to the recent rains, the Ohau ground was unfit to play on, consequently the match eras transferred to the Kuku ground, which was not in the best of conditions. From the commencement of the game the play by both teams was loose, neither forwards packing too well, but Foxton managed to keep the play within their opponents’ half, and often within the twenty-five line. The Ohau backs were, howe\er, in good defence form and it was while Foxton was pressing that the hall was kicked into S. Tamihana’s hands (Ohau wing-three-quarter), and lie made an exhibition run down the length of the field scaring near the side line. The hall was heavy, and the try was not converted. Ohau 3 —Foxton nil. Shortly alter the kick-oil Foxton again pressed Ohau, and keeping the ball at their toe, Foxton forwards took it across the line, and (.Toon fell on it.
