SOCIAL EVENING
The members of the Whakatanc Club and friends, on the invitation ef one of their members, Mr Frank Staples, spent a very enjoyable time together in the Weraroa Hnll on Thursday evening. Games, dancing and competitions, and a daintily served supper were heartily enjoyed by the guests. After supper Mr Cliff Wilkinson made a happy little speech and presented Mr Staples with an evorsharp pencil, with the best wishes of his friends present, which were accompanied with musical honours. Mr Staples suitably replied, after which Mr Troen, who acted as M.C., sc l ; the- ball rolling, and once ,
more merriment was the order of -the evening. Mrs Troon, assisted by Mrs Plaster ami Mrs Hansom, were the hostesses of the evening, and the dance music was supplied by Mr Williams and Mr Staples. Gpmpetitions were won by Miss I). Parsons, Messrs Wilkinson (2), Booth (2), and Swanwick.
