CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night

Entries were largo in the store sheep section at Addington Iq-day but small in the other, departments. There was little change in values, the exceptions being a hardening in forward lambs and an easing in inferior lambs and big steers. Store sheep had another big entry of lambs of medium to indifferent quality. Gpod sorts sold well, others easing by about 6d. Ewes sold at about last week’s value, though passings came fairly frocjuenlly. Forward rape lambs made 25s 6d to 27s 6’d;

medium rape lambs, 23s to 255; good mixed pen lambs, 24s to 265; medium. 21s 6d to 23s 6d; extra good wether lambs, 25s (id to 27s 6d; medium to good, 22s to 24s 3d; inferior, 3Ss to 20s 6d; culls, 16s to 17s; good ewe lambs, to 29s 6d; ordinary, 23s to 25s 6d; best two-toothed Romney cross ewes, to 39s 9d; good 4, 6 and S-touth Romney cross ewes, to 36s 6d; best two-tooth halfbred ewes, 31s 6d to 345; ordinary 4, 6 and 8-tooth halfbred ewes, 26s to 28s (id; inferior sound-monthod halfbred ewes, 23s to 24s 6d; good twotoothed crossbred ewes, 32s to 325. 3d; good 4, 6 and S-tooth crossbred owes,

Fat cattle: 400 were yarded. More big steers were forward than butchers wanted and these wore down by 20s a head, good heifers and hairdyv/eight steers being unaltered. Vealers had an excellent sale, Twelve io IS months sorts made to £9 3s Gil; vealers, £4 to £7 10s; calves, 20s to £3.

Dairy cattle. A line of heifers made up to £l7 las, an average of £1?- 10s. The sale all round was gooff. Good second to fourth calves fetched £l.l to £lO 10s; medium. £8 to £lO 10s; inferior, £6 to £7 10s; extra good heifers, to £l7 18s; good heifers, £lO to £l2 10s; late eolvers, £8 to £ll 10s. Fat pigs met with an,improved demand. Choppers nuade from £2 10s to £4 Gs G'd; baconcrs, £3 to £4 (is Gd; (average price per lb Gd to G;!d); porkers, 37s to 48s Gd; heavy, 50s to 5Gs Gd; (average price per lb 7d to 71d).
