MANAWATU OUT FOR 418 AGAINST WAIRARAPA.

The Hawke Cup cricket match, Manawatu v. Wairarapa, was resumed this morning, when Baumber and Fletcher continued Manawatu’s innings. Runs came steadily, but with the score at 418 Baumber went out 1.b.w., after making 162. The innings closed with the addition of nine runs. WAIRARAPA 61 FOR TWO WICKETS. (By Telegraph —Press Association). PALMERSTON N., This Day. Wairarapa opened with' Burt arid Patrick, who were very careful, taking twenty minutes to reach ten. The first wicket fell with the score at 26, Burt being caught. Blamires brightened the play, ibut went out l.b.w. with 61 cn the board, his score being 29. The luncheon adjournment was taken almost immediately. Scores: — Burt, c Gallichan, b Diedrich 8 Patrick, out 19 Blamires, 1.b.w., b Tarrant 29 Balloon, not out 9 Extras 9
Baumber, who distinguished himself as a batsman for Manawatu in the above match, is a member of the Levin Cricket Club, and has played with the Horowhenua reps., where he has shown himself to be a player of class. He took part in local cricket for the first time this season, having come from Wellington, where he played for Institute.
