PARAPARAUMU NEWS.
MARRIAGE GIFTS. A large deputation of the Public Works Departincut's staff at Waikanae waited on Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Greig at their home in Paraparaumu on Tuesday night, and presented them with several useful gifts on the occasion of their marriage. Mr. Cross, in making the presentation, spoke of the good fellowship and friendship which existed between Mr, Greig and everyone on the job, and trusted that fellowship and friendship would continue in the future. In handing over the gifts Mr, Cross, on behalf of the subscribers, wished the young couple every happiness and a long and prosperous married life. „u.r. Cross then asked the company to drink* to the health of Mr. and Mrs. Greig, which they most heartily did, singing “For They Are Jolly Good Fclows-.'' Mr. Greig thanked Mr. Cross for his remarks and all who so kindly subscribed to the presentation, and said both his wife and himself appreciated very much the gifts. Hu also trusted the good friendship between all would still continue and that thsy would all continue to “Play the Game.” Mr. and Mrs. Greig (thereafter hospitably entertained all those present and a very pleasant evening was spent with songs and music. A, very enjoyable evening broke up with hearty cheers for the young couple.
