. A Thursday Island message says James Kelly has been remanded to Cairns, Northern Queensland, on a charge of having wilfully murdered Charles Walter at Boonjiemalanda, about June 28th.
Kelly’s alleged statement,, which was read in court, is a complete acknowledgment of the crime. He said that, following an argument, he struck Walter on the head with a piece of wood and when Walter fell he again struck him. Ho then carried the body into the scrub and hid it. He denied out to Thursday Island, where he was arrested.
