ESCORT FOR J. B. BATCHELOR
SOUTHERN SOLICITOR NOW IN MELBOURNE TO FACE CHARGE OF THEFT.

This morning Constable L, J. Brazier left for the Bluff en route to Melbourne, where he will ask for the surrender and return to New Zealand of John Black Batchelor, ' f bankrupt Christchurch solicitor. Batchelor was arrested in Melbourne on January 7, six months after his departure from this country. In August a warrant was issued for his arrest for the alleged theft of £9BO.
