On an uncertain wicket, which i£ anything was soft after yesterday rain, Otago (78 for 6) continued their first innings in the Plunket Shield match afainst Auckland. It was the only enterprising stroke in the first quarter of an hour. Allcott, bowling round the wicket, was inclined to swing in from off and neitheir batsman could do much with, him.
