FIRE DESTROYS LARGE HOUSE.
DAMAGE DONE TO NEW THEATRE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A fire at Papatootoe on Sunday resulted in the complete destruction of a house of 13 rooms, owned and occupied by K. Corbett. The outbreak did considerable damage to the Central Theatre, which is in course of erection. The insurances were £-;"><» on the building and £2700 on the contents. LARGE STOCK OF TYRES BURNED (By Telegraph- -Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Parly this morning, a lire occurred on the' premises of Carter Bros., garage proprietors, Mt. Eden Road, originating in rubbish near a large heap of motor tyres, valued at £7OO, all of which were destroyed. Oil and benzine added to the conflagration, but. the brigade saved the main building. CAR AND GARAGE DAMAGED. At Foxton on Saturday, a motor iiiimiisini' belonging to Mr Alex, Ross t.Mi,»hr ii. e ,n i in' <,.;!i.j - p/v-.".i,e *,><'■- ;.;!>, with the result that the butty of l:ie car was destroyed.
