CALEDONIAN FAIR.
The fair hold in the Century Hall on Tuesday afternoon and evening by the Caledonian Tennis Club was a bright and attractive function, and resulted in quite a substantial addition to the club’s funds. The stalls were prettily arranged, and the goods offered were of undoubted value. Every stall was decorated in an appropriate scheme, and both in the ornamentation and in the wares displayed there was ample evidence of much painstaking effort on the part of the club members. The tea-rooms, situated on the platform, were well patronised, and they provided a charming retreat amidst the greenery with which this department was adorned. The proceedings were enlivened by gramophone selectio'as, Master Laurie Jenson being in charge of the instrument. Competitions were held in the evening, the ladies’ naildriving being won by Mrs Peterson and the men’s potato-peeling by Mr Moffatt.
