SCHNEIDER CUP WINNER AVOIDS INTERVIEW IN PARIS (Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS. Oct. 1. French newspapers, which enthusiastically applauded the exploits of the Schneider Cup titers, sinew * the arrival of tho team have besieged the hovel attempting an interview with Flight-Lieutenant Webster. Pressmen were unable to identify Lieutenant Webster, the Englishmen in response to inquiries invariably replying " I am not he. He is not here." Air Vice x -Marshall Scarlett, Commander of the team, explained: " We set out 'is a team, won a s a team and return as a team, bearing the Cup."

IJNTHUSIASTIO HOMECOMING AT CROYDEJf. (Received Sunday, 11.25 p?m.) LONDON, Oct. 2. The homecoming of the Schneider Cup winners at Croydon did not lack enthusiasm, but bad weather kept thousands away. The spectators through rain and mist watched the approach in arrow formation, fighting aeroplanes escorting the air liners from which Flight-Lieutenant Webster and his companions landed at the appointed time. They were greeted by cheers and cries of "bravo" and were formally congratulated by Air Marshall Sir John Salrhond. , They were then escorted to a pavilion where brief speeches were mado, Lieutenant Webster saying that he was proud to have won the Cup.

Netherlands to East Indies AIRMEN HOP OFF. (Rccvived Sunday, 5.5 p.m.) AMSTERDAM. Oct. 1. Flying-Officer Koppen accompanied by Pilot-Mechanic Elorman took off for the Dutch East Indies to demonstrate the possibility of a regular air mail.

Frewen May Leave To-day (Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE. Oct. 2. Flight-lieutenant Frewen ha s been compelled to postpone his flight until to-morrow morning owing to bad weather.
