Altogether three attempts have been made to wreck Riviera trains. The police believe they are directed against the American Legionaries as a protest against the execution of Saeco and Vaiizetti.
Small slips of paper in French and English are being posted on the walls of kiosks, saying : '' To Hell with the murderers."
Big yellow posters arc appearing on hoardings protesting against the visit ot the Legionaries.
ROCKS AND BOMBS LAID ON LINE,
FURTHER ATTEMPTS REVEALED

Two additional attempts at train wrecking are revealed, one hear Monaco where larg*e rocks were removed from the line before the arrival of a train, the other at La Bacco, near Cannes, where a bomb was removed shortly before the arrival of the Legionaries' train. A stationmaster's presence of mind saved a catastrophe at Golfojuna. ■Hurried precautions enabled a train to pull up safely though it had actually passed over one of the gaps on the track.
