STRUCK WARDER WITH SHOVEL.

PRISONER TO SERVE ANOTHER THREE MONTHS.

(By Telegraph—Press Association ) WELLINGTON, This Day. Joseph Cunningham, who is serving three months for theft, came before Mr Biddell, S.M., to-day, charged with assaulting a warder at Mount Crawford with a shovel on Tuesday. It was stated that prisoner's work had been unsatisfactory lately, and a warder spoke to him about his conduct. Prisoner said he was sometimes affected by an old bullet wound in the arm, which made him slow. The Superintendent of the prison said that the prisoner had never asked to see a doctor. A term of three months was imposed, to be served at the expiration of prisoner's present sentence.
