Lowry (35) and Lambert (15) resumed for Wellington in the second innings.. Both batsmen settled down quickly, but with the total at 118 Lambert returned the ball to Blunt, who accepted the catch. 118—5—25. MeGirr was next, but ho soon lost Lowry, who was clean bowled when endeavouring to pull Torrance. 128—-6—44. Hollings filled the vacancy. When flit score had been advanced to 142 McGirr gave H. C. Alloo an easy catch off Torrance. 142 —7—13,. James followed. Hollings was clean bowled by Alloo. 169 —S —23. Badcock was next, and the batting became lively, both batsmen hitting hard and often.
