KING GRANTS AMNESTY.
TO IRISH POLITICAL OFFENDERS. (Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) London, January 12. The King has granted a general amnesty to political offenders in Ireland prior to the operation of the truce-in July. His Majesty, in issuing a proclamation to this effect, says that he does so in the confident hope that this act of oblivion will aid. powerfully in establishing relations of friendship and goodwill between the peoples of Britain and Ireland.
