Transvaal Coal Strike.

A thousand Europeans are out, affecting twenty thousand natives. Pumpmen and other - safety men remain at their posts, half of their wages going to the strikers’ fund. The strike committee advocate peaceful measures, and obtained order by closing the bars in the area. The Government does not contemplate intervention at present or an at- . tempt to force arbitration.
