Bowling analysis: Parkin two for 81, Cook one for 92, Taylor two for 66. ' The wicket was slow and drying. ' The attendance was 5000. Macartney was quickly dismissed, but Bardsley and Andrews carried the score from 136 to 254. Bardsley was once let off in the field, and Andrews was twice badly missed. The bowlers got no help from the soft ground, and scorBardsley achieved his eighth cen tury of the tour, but after lunch was caught in the first over. Andrews and Taylor helped the total further along, and at the declaration Tie Australians had a lead of 272. Lancaster in their second innings lost Hallows and Makepeace, both bebowled by MacDonald, for 31.
