IRISH NURSE CAVELL.

Cowardly Sinn Fein Crime,

AGED WIDOW SHOT AS SPY.

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Per Press Association.; (Received This Day, 8.55 a.m.) London, August 3. The Morning Post is featuring the case of Mrs Lindsay, a Sinn Fein victim. It states her relatives received a letter from the Sinn Fein Minister for Defence, Mr Burgess,, announcing her execution because she was a spy. Mrs Lindsay was a widow, aged 70, and was held prisoner for months before she was killed. She was forced to write letters to Sir Neville Macready asking for a reprieve for several Sinn Feiners, saying that if they were executed her life Would be forfeit. It is believed she was executed as soon as the Sinn Feiners were. The Morning Post says it is an analogous case to that of Nurse Cavell, though, it points out, the latter was tried according to the rules of a court of justice. The paper bitterly comments on the changed attitude of the British Government in .its negotiations wilh Mr De Valera, who is head of the gang of assassins which perpetrates these unspeakable barbarities.
