LATEST UNITED STATES SENSATION. (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) New York. January 27. A remarkable kidnapping case at Lo« Angeles is attracting national attention. It has been revealed that a beautiful 23-year-old .woman Mrs O. S. Witherell, has been stolen by men who called and said her husband had been injured in an automobile accident. Mrs Witherell left an IS-months-»ld baby with a neighbour and went with- the men. Mr Witherell has received) a note demanding 50-000 dollars ransom, and Stating all will .be lost if the police are notified.
