bootk entitled "1914." It denl.s with the utmo.yb candour with his relations with Lord Kitchener during the \lotis retreat and the shortage of ammunition and .reinforcements early in 1915. Marshal Foch contributes a preface dealing with the German rushes l'or the sea ports and shows the immense importance of the battles for Ypres. He says Viscount French kept his troops well up 'to Wellington's level.
