WANDERERS' CLI'B SOCIAL

The Wanderers' Football Club orgaised a very successful social which took

place last evening, to commemorate the anniversary of the famous landing at Gallipo'.i. Air J. Procter, president of the Club, occupied the chair, and besides a largo number of returned soldiers, who were the guests of the evening, there were some fifty members of the Club present, and the proceedings were of the most cordial nature, the evening passing pleasantly with speech, song and story. After the preliminary toast. Mr Rupert Carrossa, a former resident of Levin, proposed "Our .Returned) .Soldiers" and in doingso referred to the great anniversary which they were celebrating, and the. fine record lour troops had established on all fighting fronts. He hoped everything would he done to help the returned men to settle down again

It was pleasing to see among the returned men some of their old players, and he was glad to bo there to welcome them. A pleasant feature of the gathering "'as the musical program, those assisting bping Messrs F. Hnydmi, T. Hcta">ki. Whitehon-.se and L. iScott, whilst Messrs L. Dix-on and Hanita acted as accompanists. A word of' praise is due to Mr T. Vininta and his committee for the excellence of the arrangements which helped greatly to the evening's success. Junior members of the Wa-nderers' Club are reminded that a meeting will be held in the Foresters' Hall on Wednesday next, April 30 a* 8 p.m.
