A Shannon, case, previously before the Association was referred to tho Wellington body for assistance.
Mr F. P. Walkley stated thait since last meeting he had received £80 from Ihakara, £60 from Paekakariki and £-5 from Levin. A sum of £1000 had been deposited in the Post Office Savings Banks, and they also had a credit bank balance of £676 0s 6d'.
A cheque for £5 10s was handed in from the Waikanae Society.
Mr Penn reported .that the' Otakii Society liad unanimously decided to hand over £500 to the Association m'|bh a recommendation that a substantial! proportion of same be invested in the war loan. This decision, however, "was subject to confirmation a/t a further meeting of the Otaki committee. —This ; lannoun'oement was received with applause .and the chairmain expressed peasure at Otaki's action, sayning at that irate their funds would soon mount apa-ce.
