Horn lost on his claim and judgment for £35 and cofite was awarded to Standi I on the. counterclaim. A full report of tlie judgment •will appear to-morrow. I The following letter has been received by the chairman of the Rantfitikei Patriotic Society :—"Deal - Sir,—l estimate my (so-calle<l) war profits for tho year at about £400. Of this, about £150 has been distributed in war taxation and donations to various funds throughout t/he year, and the balance (£250) I hereby enclose as my contribution to the funds of your society. 1 should like, however, £10(7 at least to ( to allotted to the dependents of those " who lost their lives in the recent naval battle, as without tlie Grand Fleet we should none of us be making profits. I should like this donation to be from myselif and 'employees,' as without their help it would have been impossible to givt> it.—iours sincerely. G. L. Marshall."
