The excellent net result of £32 11s 6d has accrued from the concert in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund given last week by the children of Levin public school. . The sale of work and produce at Ihakara on AVedneeday yielded over £80, in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. 'The committee is to De congratulated on the success of its efforts £o relieve distress. Though slower off the mark than the price of foodstuffs the price of clothing is apparently on the up grade as a result of the yrar. In the fighting in Europe much clothing is torn and destroyed by sHrapnel and holed by bullets. For having procured intoxicating liquor during the currency of their prohibition orders, Albert Edward Watson and James F. Butcher were each fined 10s and costs, at Levin S. M. Court to-day.
