In the same sense music is an important influence in all utilitarian projects. .Recently has been formed in London a Society for the Brotherhood of Arts. The object is not only to organise the producers ut works ol' art in the higher walks of liie, but to inspire the crat'te and industries, which means that the students of psychology who are the inaugurators of this new society have discovered the wonderful impetus music given to the industries and crafts. .More and more knowledge every day seems to be given to the world, and all those who have the welfare of this iistrict at heart should set about encouraging music in our midst in all forms ami shapes. Every worthy musical artist who visits us should be received with open arms, for every note means another step towards the development and wealth producing aspects of our town and country. AVe might well show our interest in this latest aspect of music, which student*; have revealed to us by our determination to take advantage of the presence of Leo. Jan and .Mischel Cherniavsky. who will be with us to-niglit. Let us wake up and realise the opportunity that is coming and avail ourselves of it, for the betterment of our minds, our people, and our industries. Let us appreciate them by crowding the hiill to overflowing and thus encourage other great artist.s to visit our town.
