URITISH MARKETS FOR PRODUCE. From .Mr A. Thome, local representative for the well-known Eng!lisli produce linn, 11. and W. Davidson. we arc in receipt of the subjoined report on various markete in the Old Laud :—

Markets all over the country have been very depressed, and it has been with extreme difficulty that stocks even of choicest quality have been kept moving. Good rains have fallen during the past week, and what we now require is bright sunshine to bring away the growth. Our advices yesterday from Copenhagen state that the market thoro was very dull, and the quotation to-day has been declared *2 kroner lower.

Danish and Swedish.—The arrivals this week show an increase of 1310 casks. The market haK been very quiet and depressed, and notwithstanding the 3 kroner reduction advised last week, this has not been sufficient to increase tlio demand. Arrivals are not cleared, considerable stocks being left over unsold. Prices generally show a reduction for the week of 3s to 4s per cwt. Choicest quality llSs to 120s.

Siberian.-—Arrivals this week show a very heavy increase, thoro being a total of over 20.000 casks. The market in consequence has been very dull and prices are lower. Choicest quality cannot be quoted at more than 101s to 106s, with good to fine obtainable at 08s np to l(V5s.

French. - Market exceptionally quiet. Whilst no official change has oecn announced in prices. market values arc many shillings below the figures quoted. We therefore cannot recommend shipments to bo made at present. We quote officially -

Extra mild 122s to 12fis. Paris baskets lis to 121s, finest 11-1s to 118s. good to fine 108s to 112s. inferior 90s to 108s,

IRISH. CREAMERY. The make continues to be very large. The demand is poor, and buyers are able to fill their requirements at several shillings less than the prices ruling last wee.k Choicest quality salted cannot be quoted today at more than 1 01b to 107s. choicest unsalted 108s to 10f)s. There is still a considerable proportion of the goods coming forward which can hy no moans ho described as choicest; these parcels it is almost impossible at the moment to sell even although the holders are willing to shade prices very considerably. For these we quote 100s to 102s. ' COT.OXIAL BUTTERS. Arrivals this week comprised the s.r. Marathon, with 4815 boxes. Norseman with 7537 boxes, arid the Malwa. with 309 boxes. The market has boon very quiet and disappointing, and although sellers havo been quite ready to accept lower prices, buyers continue to hold off. The transport workers' strike is not yet completely settled, and this has also an unsettling effect on the market. Choicest salted 101s to lOfis up to 108s. secondary descriptions obtainable at 98s to 102s. Fn salted continues to moot with a jgood onqairy, and owing to comparative scarcity 110s to 112s is obtainable for choicest goods. New Zealand.--The buttons ex Athonic are now becoming available. Choicest, goods are offered at 112s to 114s. but the demand is slow.
