Thb Horowhenua County Council lias been appointed tlie controlling authority for the Otaki Licensing District. Tho triennial election of a licensing committee for the electorate .will be held on the second Tuesday in March. A publio notification of the poll will appear in our columns towards the end of nert week. So far we have heard no Option of a fot*e«o tfu»
maintenance and abstinence sections of tihe citizens, but something dofinite m regard to their intentions will be heard, no doubt, as soon as the formal notification of the poll appears. Tihe franchise for this election is broad, householders—both husbands and wives—being entitled to vote.
