There is a good story of a Divinity professor who had an ©state in Senland, and who had been invited r.j preside at the baptism of the lose arrived infant in the already crow-l-ed house of a minister. Afterwards, asking the "minister's man" what had been wrong, that functionary replied : "Ye see, professor, the minister's name is Sparks, and yon is bis tenth bairn!" Numbers of people all along the Manawatu line are travelling to Wellington just at present, thus taking : advantage .of this, perhaps the only ! opportunity, of hearing one of England's greatest actors, Mr H. 15. Wilson's motor car, which has been specially hired for the occasion. The party intends leaving here early in the afternoon, so as to arrive in town in ample time for tea before going to the theatre. The return journey will be commenced early Thursday morning, in order that the party may arrive in Levin in time for business, thus not wasting any business hours whatsoever.
