Tlie c/itter "Clarence" capsized yesterday afternoon at tlio niout'L of the Thames rivor. There were four men on the vessel, two of them named Harris and Wilkes reached the shore after a bard .<nvim. The obher two. named .Johnston ftncl Clark, wove drowned. It is understood that the latter were residents of Auckland. AX [XCORRIOCT RETORT. Later. The tihnt two men named Johnston and Clark were drowned in the Thames river is incorrect. The facts are that four men from Clarence were coniiiur ashore in a dinghy which c:iiKiz":l. Harris and Wilkes swam au'ioro. and the cithers were picked up ,by a launch and taken to Thames. die police sent out search parlies, but the men reported to the police are all safe.
