POLICE TAKE A HAND
Wrestling Bout at Hamilton Stopped DAVIS RUNS RIOT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, Nov. 13. The intervention of Senior-Sergeant G. H. Lambert last evening in the Theatre Royal brought to a conclusion in the sixth round the roughest wrestling bout seen in Hamilton this season. As a result of the police action Davis wts disqualified and the bout was awarded to Blomfield. Blomfield secured a fall in the third round after a series of beautifully-timed« flymg tackles, a drop-kick and two j dumps. Davis equalised in the fiftlF refund with a fall following deadly elbow jolts and a dump. The sixth round was sensational. Davis had Blomfield against the ropes and when he kicked and punched the referee attempted to separate the pair, but Davis ran riot. Blomfield’s second knocked Davis down. Davis resumed rough tactics and - after intervening twice the senior-sergeant stopped the bout and Davis was disqualified.
