Perry and Harpo Marx.
A “verbal fight” between F. J. Perry, Wimbledon, and American lawn tennis champion, and Harpo Marx, the film comedian, was a feature of the final of the Pacific South-west tournament, in which Perry was defeated by Donald Budge, the young American Davis Cup player, in five sets. At times during the match Perry became disgruntled at frequent glaringly bad line decisions, many of which ho strongly disputed. Marx, with a gallery of spectators at Los Angele*’, had indulged in a. spate of heckling and had unnerved the British champion.
