The “News-Chronicle’s” Berlin correspondent suggests that the proclamation of a new Constitution will be Germany’s “spectacular event for 1937” Unless something more thrilling presents itself. In the meantime, Herr Hitler, it is stated, will devote less time to executive matters, assuming a position resembling a reigning sovereign. General Goering will be appointed viceChancellor and president of a Directorate of Three with control of foreign affairs, finance and internal affairs. Herr von Ribbentrop, Ambassador to London, is being considered for the Foreign Ministry and Herr Keppler, Dr. Schacht's rival, for the finance post. The Reichstag win ue abolished and replaced with a Senate of 200 nominated by Herr Hitler.
