OAKS TO TOE NOTCH By Telegraph —Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 11. The Canterbury Jockey. Club’s Metropolitan meeting was continued to-day, the weather being fine and the course in good order. The attendance was excellent and the totalisator investments amounted to £38,256 compared with £22,670 on the corresponding day last year, when the weather was bad. Sir George Clifford’s successes to-day with Trench Eight, Wild Chase and Top Notch give him eight wins foy the meeting. Results:—

Crossing the top Trench Fight and Plato piloted the field, and led into the straight from Dungarvan, Pakanui, Boomerang and Concert Pitch. In a hard finish Trench Fight beat Plato by a neck, Dungarvan being two lengths away. Boomerang was fourth. Time, 1.38 1-5.
