OBITUARY
Mr. J. Hay Mentiplay

WELLINGTON, Oct. 17.
The death occurred suddenly to-day of Mr. James Hay Mentiplay, the oldest living member of the Wellington Bowling Club, aged 78. He came to New Zealand from Chile when about seven years of age. Later he joined the Bank of Australasia, then the Bank of New Zealand. He was president of the Wellington Bowling Club in 1909 and 1910, and secretary from 1896 to 1902. He rolled the first ball at the opening of the jubilee day of the club last Saturday. He was three times married. He is survived by a widow, and leaves a son and a daughter by each of his first wives.
