SOCCER FOOTBALL

Veterans v. Colts

The annual Soccer match, Veterans v. Colts, which was really a burlesque game, was played on Nelson Park, Napier, on Saturday.

There were intervals when Soccer was played and other spasmodic periods when the ball was kicked in any direction the whim of the kicker chose. Veterans won by live goals to four, but the margin might easily have been gi eater—or smaller. Players donned a variety of costumes, and it was hard to decide which side a player was on, especially some of the more nimble veterans, whose play was not less vigorous than that of the Colts. JUNIOR MATCHES Junior Soccer matches resulted as follow:—

High School (A) 4 v. High School (B) 1. Y.M.C.A, 2 v. Magpies 2.
