SPRING FLOWERS

Hastings Show To Be Held On Saturday The Hastings Horticultural Society’s spring show will be held in the Assembly Hall on Saturday, next when it is expected there will be a good display of spring flowers. The several women’s organisations 111 the district are concentrating in the decorative classes and a good display is promised. Mr. Allan Gilson, will judge the bulb section, and also stage a display. Miss M. Ebbett is to judge tho decorative work, Mr. McKenzie the miscellaneous, and Mrs. W. Wright the children’s section. A display of the latest in daffodils is also expected from Mr. Poole. An effort is being made to get the school children interested in floral work, such as button holes, sprays and bowls of flowers. All children’s classes are entrance free. Tho class for the layer bowl has been omitted from the schedule. Entries close to-morrow (Wednesand the secretary will be in attendance at Mr. C. B. Hixon's floral shop on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 to receive late entries. The show will be open to the public troin 2 p.m. fo 9 p.in. on Saturday.
