40-Hour Week Agreed To (By 1 elearaph - Bresa Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. '3. The Arbitration Court, in judgments on applications for amendments to awards relating to Northern Flour Mills’ employees and workers of Canterbury flour, oatmeal and pearl-bar-ley mills, states that the parties agreed that the hours be 40 a week, also that the rates of wages of Northern Flour Mills’ employees be the same as under the Canterbury flour mills award. An order was made by the Court that the 40-hour week and permission to work on Saturdays shall apply to employees of Hayward Bros., Christchurch, in the starch-making branch.
