URGENT WORKS
School Rebuilding and Additions HASTINGS CENTRAL INCLUDED Additions at th ePort Ahuriri School were considered further by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board this moroning, when the board decided to advise the Education Dept, that that school was included on tho list of urgent works. Tho department, which received an application from the board for a grunt lor additions, asked to be advised of the urgency of tho application, to enable the matter to bo considered further.
“We have prepared a list of urgent works, and 1 see no reason to alter it,” said the chairman Air. G. A. Maddison. Ou his suggestion, the department is to be advised of tho list. It contains the names of 26 schools in regard to owhich rebuilding, additions or alterations are urgently required. The total sum of money estimated to cover the work is £33,757. Schools affected include the following.—Port Ahuriri, Hastings Central, Maraekakaho, Maharahara, Matamau, North Clyde (Wairoa) nd Waipawa.
