Borough Affairs
(To the Editor.) Sir, — We have read quite recently through your paper a great number of borough works which are to be carried out in the near future, such as Civic (Square, libraries, etc. I would suggest that the borougn, before launching on such an expensive programme, get their house in order lirst, and linish some of the works that have been half started, such as footpaths, channelling, etc. A visit by those responsible to Riverslea road south lirst thing this (Wednesday) morning would suffice to convince them that a few pounds spent in completing the channelling in this area would have prevented the borough storm-water from flowing into the residences concerned and causing the occupants such inconvenience as to have to paddle their way about bare foot. This is the second occasion on which residents have been so inconvenienced and it is imperative that something be done immediately.—Yours, etc., DISGUSTED. Hastings, June 17. 1936.
