Omakere Branch Meeting From Our Own Correspondent. OMAKERE, June 16. Mr E. Gilbertson presided over the meeting ot the Onia kero branch of the Fanners’ Union. Mr E. C. JNation, branch delegate to the Provincial Conference gave an address dealing with the various remits which came before the last meeting. The meeting fully approved of the presence of the Press at meetings. Mr <l. Nairn spoke on the damage and loss that would ensue, should fool and mouth disease break out in New Zealand. Members present viewed with concern the suggestion that the embargo on stock be lilted and they feel that all fodder and straw or hay packing from overseas should be destroyed without being landed. The suggestion ol brunches donating money for farmers’ Union prizes al the Hawke's Bay Show was temporarily put aside till such time as funds in hand warranted such action.
