Organisation Work Well Under Way OFFERS OF DONATIONS Excellent and most encouraging reports have come to hand from the various committees appointed concerning the Chinese Fair, to be held in the Assembly Hall, Hastings, on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The appeals for produce and other household and general commodities have elicited wonderful support and all committees have now definitely got their stalls and shows well under way. “I’ll give you half a sheep if yot come and get it,” was one of the messages left for the secretary. Another donor offered the canvasser for poultry “half a dozen hens if you catch ’em.” A number of residents, however, have volunteered to deliver various articles and items, and altogether there is every prospect of the fair being quite the biggest bazaar held in Hastings or the district.
