Boyes, headmaster of the Waipukurau District High School, raised a laugh at the recent meeting of the school committee, when he told members of the first case of bribery and corruption at the Waipukurau school. It appears that n youngster was arraigned before him lor some offence, and evidently very I Tightened, offered the headmaster threepence to let him off.
