RIFLE SHOOTING
Poporangi Club The Poporangi Defeuco Rifle Club’s presentation of prizes was held in the Kcroru Hall on Baturday. At the invitation of the Women’s Institute this function was performed in conjunction wiiu the Institute’s birthday celebrations. Tho president, Mrs Nelson Smith called on the patroness, Miss Anderson, to present tho following prizes:— Club championship (R. T. Anderson Memorial Cup find miniature), AV. Tankersley; intermediate championship, and the Nelson Smith Cup, AV. Tankersley; junior championship (Styles and Styles Cup), H. Jackson; secretary's trophy, L. R. Averill! Miss Anderson’s trophy, AV. Tankersley; Club No 1 trophy, AV. AVinchester; Club No 2 trophy, N. Kirk; Mr L. 11. Averill’s trophy, H. Jackson; tho president’s trophy, J. Sorensen jnr.; the AVhanakino trophy, AV. Tankersley; Mr J. Sorensen’s trophy, L. R. Averill; Air H. Jackson's trophy, AV. Tankersley; the Stan Simmons Rose Bowl, L. R. Averill; Club No 3 trophy, AV. Simmons; consolation first prize, AV. Livingston; cousclation second prize, D. Carswell.
Pakowhai Miniatures
At the weekly shoot of the Pakowhai Miniature Rifle Club the attendance was one of the best for this year, and a high standard of shooting prevailed. The shoot was the first of a fortnightly series for a trophy kindly donated by M. F. 11. Heid. The ladder badge for (ho week goes to R. Sutton, who scored the “possible.” A feature of tho evening was a novel supper which caused much amusement among members. The following are the detailed scores:—
