Hastings Branch Meeting The members of the Spilt Ink Club met in the G.F.S. rooms, on Friday, but the attendance was not up to standard. Au interesting "ghost” story—which happened to be true—was read by one member, in response to the call for stories, verse, etc., written round the words, "The boat left the wharf and —”. Another, a war sketch, and two short stories, both original, r.era received with commensurate approbation. Discussion was general on literary subjects, authors, and the coming competitions in "Tui’s Annual,’’ tn which some of the members attained success last year. Stories, or verse, original or otherwise, on "Prehistoric Days,” were asked for for the next meeting.
